Participants will leave the training with an Implementation Checklist to support furthering the practice in their school community.

Nervous System Regulation: Tools for the Classroom: In this workshop for school community professionals, participants will experience an introduction to the five-element methodology with practices to enhance personal and child/youth well-being, and understand how to support these practices at the individual level while engaging in a community of practice with other professionals. This workshop will be held on the following dates (note location differences):

  • Date #1 and Time: September 29, 2026 from 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM
  • Date #2 and Time: September 30, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Trauma-Responsive Practices: An Application Focused Workshop: In this Workshop, participants will learn about the foundations of a trauma-responsive approach and select practices to apply this approach to their role with children/youth.

Neuroscience in Education: Implementation Workshop: This Workshop will support implementation of Dr. Desautels’ Applied Educational Neuroscience Framework: Educator Nervous System, Co-Regulation, Touch Points, and Language of the Nervous System, and provide valuable planning time for participants. These individuals and/or teams will determine scale based on the needs of their community and walk away with a plan to implement practice(s) within their system.

Coaching for School Mental Health: To implement trauma-responsive school mental health practices capable of producing meaningful outcomes, leaders create an enabling context through the formation of a District-Community Leadership Team (DCLT), who meets to examine existing school mental health structures, processes, and training needs. The TASN School Mental Health Initiative provides professional development and ongoing coaching to build capacity of local, in-house coaches (designated by their building, district, or agency leaders) to effectively facilitate DCLT meetings and lead active implementation of evidence-based school mental health practices.

Trauma-Responsive School Community Facilitator Workshop: This Workshop is an evidence-based, high quality professional development opportunity and is available at no cost and provides training, resources, and ongoing coaching for facilitators implementing a trauma-responsive school community. Specifically, participants will engage with and practice using the Facilitation Guide and Slide Deck inclusive of discussion guides, hands-on activities, scenarios, examples, and assessments. Participants will also learn to apply a structured process to develop goals and monitor implementation at the individual, building/community, or district/agency level.
