Course description

In this training, participants will be introduced to a framework informed by principles of trauma responsive school community that applies contextually relevant elements of cross system alignment, person-centered planning, data-based decision making and crisis prevention and planning. This training is relevant for school-community members who engage in any type of support planning for children/youth including IEPs, 504s, and GEI plans.

Participants may receive 5 continuing education credit/professional development points for training participation. Certificates of attendance will be available to download upon completion of a brief evaluation at the conclusion of training session. TASN SMHI is an approved provider for the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (#18-011).
 

SMHI may take photographs, videos, and recordings of activities and participants during training, meetings, and conferences. These items will be used to positively recognize the work of participants and promote learning. They may be shared via social media pages, the SMHI webpage, conference materials, and SMHI promotional materials. The utilization of photographs, videos, or recordings taken by SMHI will abide by all state and federal laws regarding confidentiality and will not be used for any commercial value or monetary gain. By registering to attend this event, participants agree to have photographs, videos, or recordings utilized, without remuneration, unless this permission is revoked in writing to SMHI.
 

Learning Objectives

  1. Analyze current support planning processes for alignment with Trauma-Responsive School Community Principles and Essential Elements. 
  2. Apply Essential Elements of Trauma-Responsive Support Planning to a fictional youth.
  3. Develop a plan to apply the Essential Elements of Trauma-Responsive Support Planning to an individual child in your school community. 

Refund Policy

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
