Root Cause & Success Analysis Resources

More times than not, teams quickly jump straight into treating the symptoms of an issue in schools. By doing this, we may be forgetting there is actually a deeper problem needing attention. If we only fix the symptoms seen on the surface, the problem will likely return, needing fixing over and over. Root cause analysis is a collaborative process educators can use to solve adaptive challenges in a school.

The following modules will guide the leadership team through the process of uncovering root causes. This process is used many times throughout the continuous improvement journey. The root cause analysis brief shares an overview of a root cause analysis.

Success Analysis - A success analysis is a thorough evaluation process that aims to understand the factors contributing to the successful outcomes of initiatives. This process may involve examining instructional methods, support systems, and environmental factors to identify best practices and critical success drivers for future educational endeavors. This enables systems to build on strengths to achieve more successful academic outcomes and improve student achievement. Additionally, deeply studying success and uncovering replicable factors can help scale them up to build and sustain an equitable system where each and every student succeeds.
