KSDE and Lexia have partnered to provide a service allowing Kansas educators to retake a LETRS post-tests one time if they scored below 80%. This does not apply to Checks for Understanding or Unit Assessments, it applies only to post-test.
Post-Test Rest Criteria for Kansas Educators
- The participant must have submitted a post-test assessment on or after July 1, 2025.
- The participant must have an active license to retake the post-test. If the participant's license has expired, a license renewal must be purchased and in place in order to retake the assessment.
- The post-test score must be 79% or lower on the LETRS Volume 1, Volume 2, LETRS for Early Childhood, or LETRS for Administrators post-test.
- Each participant is eligible for one reset per post-test.
- Once a post-test is reset, the previous score cannot be restored; the new score will be considered final.
- Retakes completed by November 30, 2026 are provided under the KSDE/Lexia agreement at no cost to the educator or district.
- Retakes of post-tests completed after November 30, 2026 will require the course to have unexpired license and will have a fee charged directly by Lexia (as of February 2026 the 50% discounted fee is $50).
