Kansans Can Competency Framework

Join us to empower students to better self-regulate (see the Self-Regulation Infographic).

This 3-hour virtual training is designed for educators who provide individualized instruction and support to students (Grades K-12). During the training, participants will learn instructional practice to teach self-regulation, strategies for helping students plan, monitor, adjust, and reflect to better achieve their learning goals, and the five-step intervention cycle for individualizing support and monitoring progress. Participants will receive access to training materials and the self-regulation curriculum, which includes instructional activities and assessments for students in K–12.

Due to confidentiality, no recordings will be provided after this real-time virtual event.

Learning Objectives

  1. I can explain why we are teaching self-regulation.
  2. I can describe the strategies break it down and predict obstacles and how they improve students’ self-regulation.
  3. I understand how to assess students’ growth in self-regulation using the Self-Regulation Performance-Based Observation.
  4. I have developed a plan for implementing the 5-Step Intervention Process with a student.
  5. ​​I know how to access additional self-regulation resources to extend my learning.

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
