Course Description: This asynchronous, facilitator-led course, which runs August 18–December 1, 2026, is designed for Kansas educators of students in Grades K–12 to teach student Assertiveness Strategies, either in core content or other applicable areas. Through this self-paced course, educators study a professional learning ebook and lessons to gain knowledge of 10 Assertiveness Strategies as well as resources to apply assertiveness instructional practices. Each week, the ebook and lessons are reviewed, and then participants complete 1-2 Your Turn activities, demonstrating their understanding. A Recognized Trainer provides feedback throughout the course as well as two real-time coaching sessions as part of Chapters 5 and 13. The course activities, with the exception of the two coaching events, are asynchronous and can be done anywhere at any time of day. Coaching will be scheduled at a time that works for each participant.
This course is valued at $200 but is being offered in 2026–27 to Kansas educators for only $20.

Course completers will earn 28 CEUs, with an option to receive two graduate credit hours from Baker University (additional payment is required; details provided during the course). You are eligible to receive Baker credit even if you've taken an assertiveness course from us in the past. This is new content.
