Teaching Self-Regulation: Kansans Can Competency Framework

Professional Development Description:
This one-day workshop with follow-up is designed for teachers who aspire to incorporate interpersonal competency development (i.e., self-regulation) within daily instruction, either in core content or other applicable areas. Through this experience, educators will learn and apply self-regulation development practices in any content area.  Participants will have the opportunity to participate in virtual follow-up to assess the quality of self-regulation instruction and student impact.

Before the training, please watch the 4-minute overview video found at CCCFramework.org and explore the resources on self-regulation. Please bring a laptop or other electronic device. All necessary materials for the workshop will be provided. At the end of the workshop, educators will be able to:

1. Explain the College and Career Competency (CCC) Framework;
2.  Teach the four essential components of self-regulation; and
3. Develop a personal instructional plan to teach self-regulation
