FY 2026 MIS Workshop - Lawrence

Purpose

The KSDE Special Education Services Team Data Manager will present information regarding special education student data including the Data Dictionary Field Definitions, Verifications, Data Submission Schedule and the Annual Performance Report data. A draft agenda is available on the registration page under the materials tab.

Workshop Timeline

·         Workshop registration opens at 8:30 AM, coffee & light snacks provided

·         Workshop presentations begin at 9:00 AM

·         Mid-morning break at 10:15 AM

·         Workshop presentation ends no later than 1:00 PM

MIS Workshop Registration

The Registration Fee is $25.00 per person.  Each registrant must complete the registration information and pay the registration fee by credit or debit card during registration. Registration can be completed only if payment is made when registering.  If you login with your username and password and then register another person, the TASN system will register you for the workshop. Keystone GSTAD Project Staff cannot register you for a workshop.

MIS Workshop Cancellation

Workshop Registrations can only be cancelled by the person who registered through the TASN registration system. Keystone GSTAD Project Staff cannot cancel your workshop registration.

Workshop registrants who cancel their registration 14 or more days prior to the workshop date will have their registration fee refunded. Registrations canceled during the 13 days before the workshop date will not have their registration fee refunded. Registrants who do not attend their workshop will not have their registration fee refunded.

Availability

Seating is limited at each workshop. Registrations may close at some locations sooner than others because all of the seats have been filled. Preferential registration on a First Come-First Served basis will be afforded to the MIS Data Clerk and the Special Education Administrator(s) or their designee (i.e., IEP Coordinator or School Psychologist). Availability subject to change.  The Data Clerk will be allowed to register if the Special Education Administrator/designee does not register for an FY 2026 MIS Workshop.

Points are awarded on the Kansas IDEA Annual Performance Report Timely and Accurate Data score sheet for attendance at an FY 2026 MIS Workshop. Two points are awarded for attendance by the MIS Data Clerk. Two points are awarded for Special Education Administrator/designee attendance at either the 2025 KSDE Pre-Leadership MIS Workshop in Wichita in June, or at an FY 2026 MIS Workshop (including the virtual workshop.) Backup Data Clerks are welcome to attend. Points are not awarded for attendance by the MIS Data Clerk Backup. 

Special Education Administrators are welcome to invite the district KIDS administrator to attend an FY 2026 MIS Workshop.  Special Education Administrators are also welcomed to invite representatives of their Student Information System and IEP Program vendors who support the Special Education MIS Data Collection to attend an FY 2026 MIS Workshop. The KIDS administrator and/or district SIS/IEP vendor/developer group must register for the workshop and will be billed for the registration fees by Keystone Learning Services. Student Information System and IEP Program vendor/developer group may send no more than a total of two persons to the FY 2026 MIS Workshops.   Each person from a vendor/developer group may attend only one workshop, must register for the workshop and the vendor/developer group will be billed for registration fees by Keystone Learning Services. A vendor/developer group is to attend strictly to obtain information from the workshop presenters. A vendor/developer group is not permitted to conduct formal or informal meetings with any workshop participant during any portion of the workshop day whether initiated by the vendor/developer or the meeting participant.  A vendor/developer group is not permitted to solicit business from any workshop participant during any portion of the workshop day whether initiated by the vendor/developer or the meeting participant.
