Course description

Kansans Can Competency Framework

Course Description: This facilitator-led course, which runs from April 22 - May 31, 2024, is designed for teachers of students in Grades 3–6 to better understand instructional activities to teach self-efficacy, either in core content or other applicable areas. Through this interactive course, educators gain knowledge of ten self-efficacy strategies, as well as resources to apply self-efficacy instructional practices in intermediate grades. Each week, instructional activities will be reviewed and then discussed with colleagues, with facilitation from a Recognized Trainer. Course activities are asynchronous and can be done anywhere at any time of day.

Materials that will be provided for this class include lessons (download for free).

Course completers will earn 18 CEUs with an option to receive one graduate credit hour from Baker University (additional $80 payment is required; details provided during the course). Click here to register for the Baker credit hour.

NOTE: Please ignore the date/time information provided through the TASN website. Limitations of the registration system require this information, but Week 1 activities can be completed anytime during the week of April 22. This course is asyncronous, so you can engage whenever it fits within your schedule each week. Information on accessing the course materials will be provided via email a week prior to the start date.

At the end of the course, educators will be able to:

  1. Describe 10 self-efficacy strategies.
  2. Assess student self-efficacy knowledge and skill using curriculum-referenced and performance-based assessment techniques.
