Kansans Can Competency Framework

 

This online workshop will be divided into three separate two-hour sessions:

Part 1: June 22 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. Link

This professional development opportunity, with follow-up, is designed for teachers who aspire to incorporate interpersonal competency development (i.e., self-regulation) within daily instruction, either in core content or other applicable areas. Through this experience, educators will learn and apply self-regulation development practices in any content area. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in virtual follow-up to assess the quality of self-regulation instruction and student impact.

Before the training, please watch the four-minute overview video found at CCCFramework.org and explore the resources on self-regulation. All necessary materials for the workshop will be provided. Participants may purchase the set of self-regulation lessons and student workbooks prior to training for $16 from https://nge.selz.com/ Optional text includes the book: Noonan, P.M., & Gaumer Erickson, A.S. Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop, educators will be able to:

  1. I can explain the Kansans Can Competency Framework to a colleague (including why we need to teach students college and career competencies).
  2. ​I feel prepared to teach the essential components of self-regulation (and understand that I can use the Self-Regulation Lessons to help me do so).
  3. I have brainstormed ideas for teaching self-regulation in my course/context.
  4. I know how to access resources via http://cccframework.org to support my self-regulation instruction.
