This workshop is designed for teachers who aspire to incorporate interpersonal competency development (i.e.,assertiveness) within daily instruction, either in core content or other applicable areas. Through this experience, educators will learn and apply assertiveness instructional practices in any content area.  

Before the training, please watch the 4-minute overview video found at CCCFramework.org and explore the resources on assertiveness. Please bring a laptop or other electronic device. All necessary materials for the workshop will be provided.

Course completers will receive three CEUs.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop, educators will be able to:

  1. Describe the key components of assertiveness.
  2. Assess student knowledge related to assertiveness.
  3. Practice teaching select concepts for developing assertiveness. 
  4. Critique and modify assertiveness instructional practices for your context.
