TASN-ATBS Webinar: Effective Literacy and Writing Instruction for Students with ASD: Part 2 of 2

Webinar Description:

This webinar explores evidence-based interventions to enhance reading and writing engagement for your learners.  This informative session will cater to a diverse range of learner profiles, accommodating individuals with varying levels of vocal proficiency. It will also address pre-emergent readers and writers and the unique needs of hyperlexic students, who demonstrate advanced reading abilities but may struggle with comprehension. We will illustrate the interventions with video and picture examples featuring elementary students and showcase practical applications that can be readily implemented.  Moreover, these strategies extend their benefits beyond the elementary level, effectively benefiting older students who may be following an alternate curriculum. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insights and evidence-based tools to foster engagement in reading and writing among diverse learner populations.

Learner Objectives:

Participants will learn:

  1. The think, think, choose strategy
  2. Interventions to increase student’s reading comprehension
  3. How to incorporate evidence-based interventions into reading and writing instruction
  4. How to expand writing using shaping, pictures, and technology
