Course description

Assertiveness opens the door for students and adults to properly communicate with one another. During this one-day training, participants will learn the components of Assertiveness. They will begin to relate the components to their own classroom and how the instruction will impact their students' communication. In addition to the one-day training, participants will have 4 weeks of online learning activities to complete to deepen their understanding of Assertiveness. The final portion of this training will be to create an instructional plan for teaching a component of Assertiveness within your classroom. The instructor will provide feedback on the instructional plan and help support participants in implementation within the classroom.

Learning Objectives

Participants will learn the components of Assertiveness and examples of implementing the instruction within their classroom.

Participants will create an instructional plan, teach the instructional plan, and then reflect on the implementation.
