Course description

FOUNDATION MODULES A-E Days 1 & 2 FOR FIRST TIME ATTENDEES.

The Kansas Math Project (KMP) training prepares participants with evidence-based teaching practices and deepens their understanding of math content.

Come join us for two days of Foundation Modules A-E training. Day one will begin with Module A, the belief that all students can learn mathematics. Additional modules will focus on the coherent understanding of mathematical progressions that lead to long-term proficiency and a focus on the understanding of explicit and systematic mathematics instruction. In the final module, participants will engage in data analysis of learning to drive instruction and interventions.  Get your registration in early as space is limited.

The project is a collaboration between the Kansas State Department of Education, Kansas MTSS & Alignment, Dr. Sarah Powell, and Dr. Bradley Witzel. In addition, hundreds of educators across Kansas provided feedback and review throughout the developmental process. KMP is an exciting initiative and valuable professional learning opportunity for Kansas teachers.

* If registration is full, email kmp@kansasmtss.org to be placed on a waiting list.

Learning Objectives

  • Connect math constructs as a progression of learning rather than isolated standards;
  • Share the CLEAR-DO of systematic instruction, shown to increase students’ outcomes in mathematics and
  • Use assessment to drive instruction and intervention decisions.

Refund Policy

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
