This webinar will give a brief review of the Kansas AT Guide and introduce the new Early Childhood Appendix.
The Kansas Assistive Technology Guide was created in response to a need expressed by Kansas school administrators and educators for high-quality examples of the processes that individual school districts and IEP teams can use to provide legal, effective, and ethical assistive technology (AT) services. Development of the guidance is led by Kansas Infinitec, approved by the Kansas State Department of Education SETS March 2024. The Guide is reviewed and updated annually.
The Kansas Assistive Technology Guide can be customized and tailored to local services. The guide is envisioned as a starting point for the development of a specific agency’s AT services. Any part of the guidelines can be copied or revised for use by an individual program or agency. Here are some examples of ways districts can use the guide:
