Professional Development Description:
This one-day training with follow-up is designed for teachers who aspire to incorporate intrapersonal competency development (i.e., sefl-regulation) within daily instruction, either in core content or other applicable areas. Through this experience, educators will be provided the knowledge, resources, and experience necessary to learn and apply self-regulation development practices to teaching in any content area.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the session, educators will be able to:
• outline and differentiate between the four main components of self-regulation;
• describe the Kansans Can Competency Framework to a colleague;
• develop an instructional plan to teach self-regulation, relating the content to class content;
• select effective methods to monitor student learning and practice of self-regulation.
Then 6 weeks later, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual 1-hour follow-up to assess the quality of instruction and student impact.
