College is an option for all students, including students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This session will explore how educators can prepare students with IDD for postsecondary education through transition services, annual goals, high school coursework, and self-determination. Participants will learn what students need to navigate college environments, access supports, build independence, and thrive beyond high school. We will highlight KU TPE and other inclusive colleges in Kansas and share practical strategies educators can use now to help students envision a future that includes college (or postsecondary education and training although that's such a mouthful).
Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
