Course description

This three hour in person training will assist local homeless liaisons and their staff to easier identify homeless students and meet the requirements under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act as reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act. We will cover what the definition of homeless is in the education setting. Other topics included will be transportation, unaccompanied homeless youth, and preschool. This training will allow the attendees to interact with other homeless liaisons and the state coordinator and to ask questions of the state and their peers.
