Executive Function Skills are an important part of our daily lives but often are not center stage within the curriculum we focus on with students. The book Supporting Student Executive Functions, Insights and Strategies for Educators, by Lisa Carey and Alexis Reid, explains how these skills develop, how executive functioning challenges show up in the classroom, and how, if unaddressed, those challenges interfere with student learning. In April, chapter 9 will be covered.
We will meet from 3:30-4:15 once a month to discuss the key takeaways from each chapter, specifically looking at how you can implement executive function skills in the classroom.
