Course Description: This facilitator-led course, which runs from July 10 - August 18, 2023, is designed for teachers to better understand instructional activities to teach self-regulation, either in core content or other applicable areas. Through this interactive course, educators gain knowledge and resources to apply assertiveness instructional practices in the middle/high school setting. Each week, instructional activities will be reviewed and then discussed with colleagues, with facilitation from a Recognized Trainer. Course activities are asynchronous and can be done anywhere at any time of day.

(One copy of this book will be provided to each Kansas middle and high school. You will need to either access your school's copy or purchase your own book.)
Course completers will earn 18 CEUs with an option to receive one graduate credit hour from Baker University (additional $80 payment is required; details provided during the course).

This course is asyncronous, so you can engage whenever it fits within your schedule each week. Information on accessing the course materials will be provided via email a week prior to the start date.
At the end of the course, educators will be able to:
Describe the key components of self-regulation.
Assess student self-regulation knowledge and skill using curriculum-reference and performance-based assessment techniques.
Analyze self-regulation instructional activities, and plan application to promote students’ self-regulation within your course content or setting.
Prepare to teach and provide feedback to students on performance related to self-regulation.
