Course description

Dive into the fundamental concepts of Assistive Technology (AT) skills and the pivotal role AT plays in supporting students to succeed in post secondary life. Explore how technology can empower individuals with diverse needs to overcome barriers and enhance their independence in educational and life transitions. This session will highlight the Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology in Postsecondary Settings (QIAT-PS) tool. The session is designed for educators, specialists, administrators, and transition coordinators. Empower your students to navigate the path ahead with confidence and independence.

Learning Objectives

 

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify the importance of AT for student success in postsecondary life
  • Predict potential AT transition barriers for students and their impact on postsecondary success
  • Analyze QIAT-PS tools to and how it supports the transition process
