Four Effective Mathematics Practices: Adaptations for All Learning Environments

Bradley Witzel, Ph.D., is an award winning K-18 teacher and the Adelaide Worth Daniels Distinguished Professor of Education at Western Carolina University. As a classroom teacher, and before that as a paraeducator, he worked in multiple settings teaching mainly math and science to high achieving students with disabilities. Dr. Witzel has written numerous books, book chapters, and training manuals as well as several dozen research and practitioner articles. He has developed and presented six education videos, as well as delivered over 500 workshops and conference presentations, including our annual Kansas MTSS & Alignment Symposium. Most importantly, he is a father of two, husband of an educator, and son of two educators.  His specialties include professional development, mathematics education for at-risk and struggling students, response to instruction and intervention, and program research.
