Tri-State Webinar: Using the Incredible 5-Point Scale

Description of Presentation:

Social cognition involves social awareness, emotional awareness, relationship building, self-management, and emotional regulation. Social cognition is a developmental issue and can impact a person’s confidence and competence in almost all social situations. This presentation will highlight the use of a highly systemized scale to teach skills in these four areas.

Learner Objectives:

  1. Define systematic learning as it applies to teaching social information to people with autism and related social differences.
  2. Give an example of how a scale might be used to teach emotional regulation.
  3. Describe how the 5-point scale is in line with several Evidence-based Interventions.
  4. Write a goal for using the scale to teach social awareness.
