Overview:

During the academic year, most schools invite families to come in for an Open House or regular Parent/Teacher conferences. This is a standard part of the school's efforts to build a strong partnership between families and teachers. Parent/Teacher conferences can help families and educators find ways to work together to ensure every child's success. The goal of this module is to provide content and resources for teachers to support the development of meaningful and interactive Open Houses, Parent/Teacher Conferences and Individualized Education Program meetings.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe components of a quality Open House, Parent/Teacher conference and IEP meeting
  2. Identify tools to prepare and organize for Open Houses, Parent/Teacher conferences or IEP meetings
  3. Plan to make an Open House, Parent/Teacher conference or IEP meeting interactive and meaningful
