Description: For professional development to be effective and result in systematic implementation of evidence-based practices, administrative support and investment is required (Kucharczyk, S., Shaw. E., Smith Myles, B., Sullivan, L., Szidon, K., & Tuchman-Ginsberg, L., 2012). This informational professional development opportunity is designed for administrators who are supporting educators implementing the components of Structured Teaching. Participants will be provided with an overview of Structured Teaching and a classroom support tool that can be used to guide discussion regarding implementation. Participants will also learn how the elements of structure can: decrease challenging behaviors; improve student outcomes and school-family relationships; and improve educator job satisfaction, supervision, and staff retention. The day will include an opportunity to see the elements of Structured Teaching being implemented in a demonstration classroom.
