Participants of this training will learn the critical importance of ensuring learners have a broad tact repertoire and the role it plays in acquiring verbal skills including intraverbals and answering yes/no questions, as well as the application of joint control. Protocols covered will include tacts of actions, parts and features of objects, prepositions, multiple component tacts and intraverbal webbing. Information will also be shared regarding data collection and error correction procedures. Training activities will include choral responding, written pre/post tests, the use of guided notes and competency checks on teaching procedures. Participants must have completed a three day intensive teaching verbal behavior and ABA training.
This event is approved for Type 2 continuing education units for BCaBAs and BCBAsby the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. A total of 12 CEUs will be offered for this event. Learning Outcomes
Participants will be able to:
1. Pass a written post test with a minimum score of 80%
2. Pass an oral competency with a minimum score of 85%
3. Pass all skill competency checks
4. State the importance of the Tact as a foundational skill for acquisition of more complex language
5. State difference between discrimination and generalization
6. State how joint control affects responding as a listener involving multiple discriminations
