Join us for a 6-week course and coaching series to support teams of educators in their effort to improve inclusion in their classrooms. This course is based on the Inclusive Classroom Framework by Cultivate Education.

Description

For all of our school improvement efforts, only about ⅓ of educational initiatives will be implemented with fidelity and achieve the intended outcomes (Lyons, 2022). While a lack of time and resources are often the causes of implementation difficulties, they can often be overcome by working together towards a common goal (often referred to as Collective Teacher Efficacy) and structured coaching from a qualified and experienced practitioner (Knight, 2017; Joyce and Showers, 1982; Visible Learning, n.d.)

With this in mind, this course and coaching series is structured to help establish collective efficacy with a group of educators that are interested in creating a more inclusive classroom. The modules and online discussions will be primary sources for individual educator’s learning. The live coaching sessions will be an opportunity for teams of educators to address more and more areas of concern within their classrooms and buildings and develop collective efficacy together.

As Dr. Jenni Donohoo noted, “a staff’s collective sense of efficacy enables teams to undertake challenging activities and persist with high-needs students, because they judge the staff is capable of meeting students’ needs” (2017). In this sense, collective belief in our abilities increases our abilities even further, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy of student growth!
