Course description

Are you ready to make learning more accessible and engaging for every student?
Join us for UDL 101: An Introduction to Universal Design for Learning—a practical, interactive session designed for educators at all levels.

What is UDL?
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a research-based framework that helps educators design flexible learning environments to meet the needs of all learners, including those with diverse abilities, backgrounds, and interests.

Agenda

  1. Understand the “why” behind UDL and how it supports equity and inclusion.
  2. Explore the UDL Guidelines and what they look like in real classrooms.
  3. Identify barriers in your current environment and learn strategies to remove them.
  4. Begin applying UDL principles to your own lessons, units, or classroom design.

Who should attend?
Educators who are new to UDL, Administrators that want to know more to support their staff,  or anyone who wants a refresher on how to create accessible, engaging learning experiences for all students.

Format: Virtual (Zoom)

Learning Objectives

Participants will  be able to:

  • Describe the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework and explain how it promotes access and inclusion for all learners.
  • Identify and discuss the three UDL Principles and their connection to everyday instructional practices.
  • Apply the UDL Guidelines to your own setting by identifying barriers and choosing strategies to address them.
