Course description

LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) provides educators with a core understanding of language structure and helps them gain in-depth instructional information to complement their teaching practices. LETRS brings deeper knowledge of reading instruction by addressing each component as well as the foundational concepts that link them. The Common Core standards now articulates the level of reading necessary for success in college and career, LETRS focuses on the developmental stepping stones that enable higher levels of achievement. During LETRS Foundations learning exercises engage participants with practices that will enhance their core comprehensive reading programs in the areas of oral language, vocabulary, comprehension, phoneme awareness and phonics.
