Description: 

With the increase in technology in today’s classrooms, students have access to Core Content materials, websites, ebooks, PDFs, Google Docs and more. But.... available doesn’t mean accessible! Join us for this hands-on full day workshop as we discuss strategies to provide digital text that is accessible to ALL learners regardless of ability. Learn about Accessible Educational Materials and Open Educational Resources (OER) to provide instructional materials. Bring examples of your materials and we will explore technology tools (software, apps, web tools)  to modify these materials to provide access for all. Facilitator will provide extensive resources through a collaborative online presence.

Learning Outcomes:  

Participants will: 

1. Effectively match students need to Accessible Educational Materials format in order to access Core Content and classroom materials.  
2. Understand and integrate Open Educational Resources into the delivery of accessible instruction.  
3. Explore a range of technology tools (for all OS platforms) that can be used to create/modify/provide access to Core Content and classroom materials. 
4. Develop a plan for a district wide system for creation, storage and using accessible Core Content and classroom materials.
