Speech recognition of speech to text is part of our everyday technology that can be accessed by ALL.  Speech recognition can be a powerful tool for struggling writers as it can alleviate the motor demand of writing and cognitive demand of spelling.  This session will provide information in determining if speech recognition is an appropriate tool for your student(s), how to train students, and tips for implementation.  This session will have you talking! 

Learning Objectives

Participants will: 

1. consider student use of speech recognition based on specific skills required to use the technology. 
2. identify three critical factors when teaching speech recognition.  
3. demonstrate how to access speech recognition in their everyday technology.
