Better Problem Solving in Math

Teaching word problems and problem solving is hard. It is about helping students learn to make sense, think, and reason. There are no foolproof “strategies” that guarantee student success. But there are instructional approaches and routines we can leverage to engage students, promote discussion, and support their problem-solving skill. This webinar will highlight instructional routines for better problem solving. Classroom-ready resources will be shared.

Learning Objectives

Participants will identify instructional routines for teaching problem solving for better student engagement, discussion, thinking, and reasoning.
