Course description

Executive Function Skills are an important part of our daily lives but often are not center stage within the curriculum we focus on with students. The book Supporting Student Executive Functions, Insights and Strategies for Educators, by Lisa Carey and Alexis Reid, explains how these skills develop, how executive functioning challenges show up in the classroom, and how, if unaddressed, those challenges interfere with student learning. In November, we will cover chapters 4 and the Part 2 introduction.

We will meet from 3:30-4:15 once a month to discuss the key takeaways from each chapter, specifically looking at how you can implement executive function skills in the classroom. Join with your team members, or participate on your own. The first 30 people to register will receive a free digital copy of the book.

Learning Objectives

Participants will:

  • Discuss what executive function skills look like in the classroom
  • Identify the different areas of executive functioning that impact student performance
  • Examine common behaviors in the classroom and connect them to executive function skills that may be lacking.

Refund Policy

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
