Course description

Training Series with Monthly Virtual Sessions • September–April • 9:00 AM–12:00 PM

Coaching for Implementation is a year-long, highly interactive learning experience for coaches, AIT members, and leaders who provide professional development and follow-up support. This training helps participants strengthen their internal capacity as coaches, so they can approach conversations with a coaching mindset, empower others, and facilitate the use of evidence-based practices to improve student outcomes. You'll gain practical tools to help overwhelmed educators take action, shift thinking, and build their confidence.

In addition to enhancing your own coaching practice, you'll also collaborate with decision-makers in your organization to build or refine coaching systems, expanding capacity at both individual and systemic levels.

During this professional development opportunity for the 2025-26 school year, participants are required to participate in all of the following virtual monthly sessions:

All Sessions are from 9:00-12:00

  • Tuesday, Sept 16, 2025
  • Tuesday, Oct 21, 2025
  • Tuesday, Dec 16, 2025
  • Tuesday, Jan 20, 2026
  • Tuesday, Feb 17, 2026
  • Tuesday, Mar 24, 2026
  • Tuesday, Apr 21, 2026

Thank you for your interest in our training.  Please be aware that TASN ATBS developed this training to maximize active participation and designed it to provide meaningful professional development to you and the other participants.  To support you in optimizing the benefits of participating, we ask that you:

  • Secure duty-free leave time away from distractions and your professional responsibilities; for online training this may mean securing a location away from your classroom.
  • Add an auto-response to your email and voicemail, letting individuals know you will check email and voicemail following the training.
  • Check the materials section of the registration site to ensure that you have the needed materials and supplies to participate.

We recognize that stepping away from your daily duties is a huge challenge.  We hope that the training you are attending will provide you with knowledge, skills, and resources to serve your students better.  Thank you for actively engaging in the learning process.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this year-long training, participants will:
Differentiate coaching from collaboration and consultation by identifying their key characteristics, intended purposes, and when to shift stances while maintaining a coaching mindset

  • Demonstrate trust-building strategies, committed listening practices, and intentional communication skills to establish professional rapport and strengthen coaching conversations that elicit change
  • Implement a structured coaching model to support educators in applying evidence-based practices (EBPs), leading to improved student outcomes
  • Facilitate educator-driven reflection and action planning that builds confidence, clarity, and efficacy in implementing evidence-based practices
  • Apply coaching strategies that support the implementation of professional development by helping educators contextualize new learning, make actionable plans, and sustain change in practice
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders to design or refine sustainable coaching structures that build system-wide capacity for supporting educators of students with autism spectrum disorder and complex needs
  • Evaluate their own coaching practices and develop a personalized plan for ongoing growth and reflection
