Journal Article Review: Maintaining Professional Relationships in an Interdisciplinary Setting: Strategies for Navigating Nonbehavioral Treatment Recommendations for Individuals with Autism
Overview:
Within this professional learning community event, network members will answer questions regarding collaborative practices when working on an interdisciplinary team and a process to follow when nonbehavioral treatments are recommended. The network members will develop a one-page resource on this topic that can be used as a reference tool or to be disseminated to building administrators, school teams, and families.
This event is approved for Ace Event, Learning continuing education units for BCaBAs and BCBAs by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. The BACB does not warrant, endorse, sponsor, approve, or partner with the event, organization, or instructor. Total CEUs for this event will be 1 hour. The cost of CEUs is free. - Participants will complete a work group survey for network members to determine the needs of small group activities.
- Participants will discuss the dissemination of KAPSBAN Resources and how they shared resources with key stakeholders within their districts.
- Participants will discuss and answer questions related to the pre-assigned ethics article.
- Participants will use Brodhead’s (2015) model to apply to a case study and discuss how to approach non-behavior analytic intervention recommendations.
