Course description

Deaf education is a niche field.  Teachers of the deaf (TOD)and other professionals working with deaf/hard of hearing (DHH) students often find themselves isolated and lacking resources, research, and support.  This conference aims to change that.  Attendees will receive updates on issues pertaining to deaf education, discover how DHH students are performing in Kansas, and have the opportunity to network with teachers of the deaf and other professionals serving this unique population.

A comprehensive deaf education program is a team effort. This conference is intended for Teachers of the Deaf (TODs), SLPs, Interpreters, Paras, General Education Teachers, Special Education Teachers, Administrators, and all other team members.  Team members will have opportunities to discuss the information and plan for its implementation in their districts.

Homewood Suites by Hilton is offering rooms at a government rate when the conference code “CHWKSS” is used when reserving rooms.  The reservation link can be found here.  Light appetizers at the welcome reception and lunch on the day of the conference will be provided.
