The Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, Third Edition (ASQ-3™) is a tool that provides information about the development of young children across five areas: communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal-social. The information gathered in the ASQ-3TM helps identify children who may be at risk for, or are already experiencing, developmental delays and who might benefit from services and supports. The training incorporates family studies, role playing, and practice with evaluation and scoring. Participants will also learn how to discuss screening results and referrals to community resources with families.
The training is designed for any professional who has contact with children younger than 66 months of age. The goal of the ASQ-3TM training is to help identify developmental delays early, allowing children and families to receive services as soon as a delay is recognized. Early services will allow children and families to find strategies to minimize delays and maximize potential.
Additional training and support services are avaliable on developmental health screening and promotion at: Help Me Grow Kansas .
