Course description
AAChats are a time for professionals that support students with complex communication needs to meet and discuss best practices of supporting students that use communication systems, including current trending topics, specific tools, and evaluations. Time will be given for participants to “chat” about their experiences on the monthly topic to help with problem solving and increasing knowledge.

Approved for 1 hour continuing education clock hours for Kansas licensed Speech-Language Pathologists by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- discuss evidence-based strategies for AAC use with other professionals
- review AAC systems, including how to set up, effective use, and which student that system may work best for
- network with other providers that support complex communication needs to develop their own PLC
