Course description

This LETRS module is an educator's first guide to the components of effective reading instruction. Participants will receive explicit instruction in the best practices of teaching reading, instructional activities to use in your classroom, watch videos of other teachers, and practice using the strategies before returning to your own classroom. This training is a must for primary teachers, teachers switching grade levels, and middle school/high school teachers who need help with what reading instruction should look like. Module 1 is NOT required prior to taking this training.

Objectives of the Day Participants will:

  1. Learn the effective components of reading instruction
  2. Get explicit instruction in the components of reading
  3. Receive and practice instructional activities that match the components.

All participants will get the LETRS Foundations book with the workshop. This is a 2 day training. The second day will be in the spring.

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
