Overview

Presented by Sara Daniel, MSW, LCSW.  This webinar will provide an overview of the essential ingredients for a trauma sensitive school. The prevalence and impact of trauma on behavior and learning will be reviewed. Concrete strategies and tools for shifting perspective and mindset in your school towards a trauma sensitive lens will also be shared. Additional strategies to increase student regulation, build positive relationships, create a sense of identity and belonging and foster resilience will be given. Finally, we will touch on the need for educators to engage in strategies that increase caregiver capacity and reduce compassion fatigue and burnout.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will understand the high prevalence of trauma in our classrooms.
  2. Participants will have access to resources and strategies to create trauma sensitive practice in their school.
  3. Participants will learn strategies to combat compassion fatigue and burnout in educators.
