Course description

“Don't We Already Do Inclusion?” Part 2: Presuming Complexity & Asking Different Questions

All educators need a strong foundation in the "why" and the "what" of inclusive education to create classrooms for all students, but the "who" of the work may be even more important. That is, all stakeholders need to understand the research related to inclusion as well as the federal law, but exploring the power of "seeing students strong" and presuming competence is the centerpiece of this work. This session will focus on recent studies related to inclusive education and prompt participants to ask a "different question" as they consider the potential of students with disabilities and plan for educational opportunities in inclusive schools and classrooms.
