Course description
Better Together is a two-year commitment for passionate educators interested in utilizing high-leverage special education practices that impact student growth. If you register for this training, you must also register for these trainings:
- Better Together Day 1 (July 22, 2019)
- Better Together Day 2 (July 23, 2019)
- Better Together Day 3 (April 27, 2020)
- Better Together Day 4 (July 20, 2020)
- Better Together Day 5 (July 21, 2020)
- Better Together Day 6 (April, 2021)
In addition to these in-person training dates, this professional development opportunity requires weekly participation in coaching and collaborative activities.
WHO
•Kansas classroom educators with five years or less of teaching special education who support students with autism
•Can have waiver, provisional, or professional licensure
OUTCOMES
•Develop and support high quality teachers through online and in-person coaching
•Balance day-to-day needs with focused plans for professional growth
•Support analysis and reflection on student outcomes
•Increase professional efficacy through construction of conceptual understanding and pedagogy
•Create collaborative trusting relationships with colleagues in school communities
COMPONENTS
Two year professional development opportunities that include:
•six in-person training days to support planning, goal setting and reflection on high-leverage special education practices
•ongoing virtual and in-person interaction with TASN ATBS coaches
•regularly scheduled opportunities for interaction with other professional colleagues through online platform

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
