Course description

Be Part of the UDL Professional Learning Community!

Universal Design for Learning is an inclusive pedagogical framework based on neuro and cognitive sciences to optimize educational design to improve and optimize teaching and learning. The UDL Professional Learning Community is offered as part of TASN High Quality Instruction in Inclusive Learning Environments project's UDL strand.

October 2023 Engagement - the "Why" of Learning

UDL considers the why, what and how of students' learning. One way to integrate universal design principles into your classroom is to provide learners with multiple means of ENGAGEMENT. This particular UDL approach offers diverse ways for learners to be involved with course content, their peers, and the instructor.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the engagement principle of Universal Design for Learning
  • Explore lessons and activities that incorporate the Engagement principle of the UDL Framework
  • Apply universal technology supports that can enhance engagement for students
