Course description

Join over 1,000 parents, advocates, attorneys, special education directors, administrators, and other education leaders as we explore the latest developments in special education law and practice. This conference is organized on behalf of the Iowa Department of Education, the Kansas Department of Education, and the Nebraska Department of Education.

This conference brings together professionals from across Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa who are dedicated to supporting children with disabilities and their families. Designed for a diverse audience—including general and special education administrators, teachers, service providers, parents, advocates, attorneys, and others—this event focuses on enhancing special education services and collaborative practices.

The majority of sessions are geared toward individuals with a foundational understanding of special education law, procedures, and best practices. Attendees are expected to bring prior knowledge in these areas to fully engage with the material and effectively apply it within their professional or advocacy roles.
