Join Emily and Samantha as they describe how they identified needs in their agency for shared vocabulary and strategies they implemented to create consistency with AT services. The session will blend best practices with real-world examples, providing practitioners with actionable knowledge to enhance their organizations' AT guidance and build educator awareness.
Samantha Moran - Samantha is the Assistive Technology Specialist for Central Kansas Cooperative In Education and has been working in Special Education for 14 years. In addition to her current role, she has also taught high and low incidence special education. Samantha received her Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education from Kansas State and completed her Master’s in Special Education from Fort Hays State University.
Emily Kaplan - Emily Kaplan, M.A., CCC-SLP ATP is an Assistive Technology Specialist and Speech Language Pathologist for Kansas City Kansas Public Schools and the Wyandotte County Special Education Cooperative. Emily has over 15 years of experience in public and private schools in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Kansas. Much of her focus in that time has been on AAC, alternative access, and inclusion.
