This event is part of a training series.  Please do not register for this event if you are not planning to attend the full series.

Join Kansas educators and related service providers working individually or in transition teams to collaborate and demonstrate understanding and implementation of transition services that support postsecondary outcomes. Participants will learn how to identify, explore and access community supports and, with a student in mind, will create an implementation plan that links student education, family engagement and community supports. Teachers, transition specialists and coordinators, administrators, parents, related service providers, and paraprofessional staff are encouraged to attend.

Pre-training assignment:

Choose and review one of the “Additional Resources” on the Guiding Educators to Access Community Supports page on the TASN ATBS website and be prepared to share 1 to 2 new insights.

January 27 & 28: Virtual Training Days 1 & 2 (8:00-12:00)

February 9: Coaching Day - A virtual 30 minute to 1 hour coaching conversation

  • Sign-up for your coaching conversation will occur during training (please come to the training with a choice of times in mind)

March 3: Virtual Implementation Day 3 (8:00-12:00)

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify and analyze the use of a variety of community supports for a specific student, educator, or agency (district/cooperative).
  • Design and implement an implementation plan linking student education, family engagement and community supports.
  • Evaluate the implementation plan using the criteria analysis.
  • Implement, discuss, reflect upon, and analyze implementation plans by sharing outcomes and reflections with colleagues

 

***Upon completion of the training sessions, coaching conversation, and implementation day, participants will be awarded a certificate for 11 hours of continuing education.***

***Approved for 11 continuing education clock hours for attendance of all 3 training days by Kansas licensed Speech Language Pathologists by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services. Long-Term Sponsorship number: LTS-S1318***
