Course description

Preparing middle and high school students for an independent, productive life is the ultimate goal of secondary education. Doing this is complicated, particularly when those students have characteristics of a disability. Planning for a high quality and effective program requires an understanding of the manifestations of the disability, planning for a manageable classroom schedule, and effectively using evidence-based practices such as visual supports during instruction and routines. On these two days, spend time learning what works and creating systems that support transition-age students so that you begin the next school year with structures that work.
