DESCRIPTION:Children’s literature often presents challenges in vocabulary
 \, descriptive language\, and the use of nonsense or gibberish words. This
  workshop will allow participants to look at bodies of children’s litera
 ture text that are traditionally established in content\, context\, and to
 ne\, and the obstacles in translation that comes with these traditional el
 ements. This workshop will provide you with the tools to translate text in
 to ASL without sacrificing content\, while preserving the fun and linguist
 ic integrity of children’s literature.\n\nLanguage: All four workshops d
 uring the 2023-2024 EIPA Workshop Series will be presented in ASL. ASL int
 erpreters will provide voiced interpretation of the presentation\; however
 \, no interpretation will be provided during activities in breakout rooms.
  EIPA Workshops are designed for skilled interpreters able to fully partic
 ipate in ASL conversations.\n
