DESCRIPTION:During this intensive\, three-day boot camp\, participants will
  receive hands on instruction and practice on key instructional protocols 
 that are designed to address the core deficits of autism including the dev
 elopment of verbal skills\, flexible responding and appropriate social int
 eractions. Participants will be tested out on specific protocols\, which w
 ill include errorless teaching\, error correction procedures\, and data co
 llection. Boot camp training will also include information on specific sys
 tems necessary for effective school-based programming\, including how to s
 chedule instruction\, organization of materials\, ongoing training of staf
 f and data-based decision making. While the intensive teaching program tau
 ght in this training is designed to meet the unique needs of learners on t
 he autism spectrum\, it is also beneficial for students who demonstrate ne
 gative behaviors due to a lack of functional language skills.\n\nLearning

 p\; ABC Analysis/Discrete Trials: All interventions taught are based on an
  operant analysis\n\n2. &nbsp\; &nbsp\; Verbal Operants: Knowledge is basi
 s for teaching language.\n\n3. &nbsp\; &nbsp\; Errorless Teaching\, Error 
 Correction\n\n4. &nbsp\; &nbsp\; Errorless and Error Correction Procedures
 : These procedures have wide applicability and are part of operant trainin
 g.\n\n5. &nbsp\; &nbsp\; Card Sort: This set of skills provides a good gen
 eral case description of materials and data organization\n\n6. &nbsp\; &nb
 sp\; Data System: Cold probes and graphing made simple\n\n7. &nbsp\; &nbsp
 \; Organization: Data systems\, materials\, schedules and more!\n\n8. &nbs
 p\; &nbsp\; Use of VB-MAPP: Assessment and Curriculum for teaching languag
 e and other skills.\n\n\n	Please indicate in "Accommodations" if you will 
 need&nbsp\;a lactation room.\n	Lunch will NOT be provided. Lunch will be o
 n your own.\n	To receive CE's you must attend all 3 days and not leave ear
 ly.\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nThis event is approved for Type 2 continuing education
