DESCRIPTION:Students experiencing homelessness may move frequently which ca
 n present challenges when arranging transportation services. To minimize s
 chool-based disruptions for children and youth experiencing homelessness (
 CYEH)\, the McKinney-Vento Act ensures that students may complete the scho
 ol year at the school attended when permanently housed\, or the school in 
 which the child or youth was last enrolled\, including a preschool (McKinn
 ey-Vento Act section 722(g)(3)(I)(ii). This requirement is known as the 
 “school of origin” and it includes feeder schools for the next grade l
 evel if the student is experiencing homelessness when the final grade leve
 l is completed for a given building. In this 60-minute session\, we will d
 efine school of origin\, review transportation services required for stude
 nts experiencing homelessness and discuss transportation strategies. &nbsp
